This year’s Hippodrome Silent Film Festival celebrates the work of legendary Hollywood screenwriter Frances Marion. I delivered an online lecture on her career ahead of the festival, which is available to view on YouTube. I also introduced the screenings of Just Around the Corner (1921) and Stella Maris (1918), and I wrote programme notes for the latter screening, as well as for the unrelated Swedish film The Nortull Gang (1923).
