Silent film on the radio

I’ve been to Broadcasting House for local radio duties a couple of times recently. First I was on BBC London Radio with film-maker Barry Bliss, to discuss the Hollywood E17 project to celebrate Walthamstow’s early cinema heritage.

Then I popped up, by digital magic, on BBC Radio Sheffield, to take about the joys of silent cinema, in time for the opening of the Yorkshire Silent Film Festival.

Silent film works remarkably well on the radio. Hmmm…
